Welcome to the teabag.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Gareth Lapworth and I live in Leicestershire, England. I am 25 years old (at the time of writing) and this is my blog.
The teabag is the target of all my ranting and raving when there is no one in near vicinity that is willing to listen to me. This, I’m afraid, happens a lot, which is good news because this means that I tend to post most of my ramblings here rather than waste them on other innocent bystanders (you the reader are not innocent, and therefore you should know better).
I do not claim to be a professional writer - and in fact I am not. No sir, not a blip. I am but a humble computer systems engineer trying to scratch a living by allowing my employer to sell my wares to whichever customer will have me.
My work is based around open source software, mainly dealing in the wonderful world of Linux. I wouldn’t say that I was a fan boy - although some may call me that, I am what I would like to describe as an advocate of highly reliable technology.
Stats of {mild} interest
- I have lived in Leicester all of my life, but since I can remember I have wanted to move - yet never have.
- I need a holiday. I haven’t taken one now since 2001, and I think it’s high time I began thinking about it. The problem with that is thinking about it is usually as far as I manage to get.
- I prefer life with a touch of humour involved. It’s important to me that I spend time with people that either make me laugh, or poke fun at me.
- I am addicted to tea. I enjoy as many cups of tea as I can drink throughout the day and night. I prefer PG Tips pyramid bags to other types, but I do dabble in Twinnings Everyday tea to satisfy some of my more refined urges.
- I enjoy a good trip to the toilet, hence the tea!
Sharing all of this with you does not make us friends, but it does now give you the right to have a good giggle at my expense. I hope you enjoy the stay here, and I certainly hope that you come back for more!
