If you are printing on a HP laser printer in Debian, and you try to print a test page that only produces the following output:
PCL XL Error
SubSystem : KERNEL
Error: IllegalAttribute
Operator: CloseDataSource
Make sure you install the following packages:
# apt-get install hplip hpijs-ppds
Once you have completed that, you should find that you are able to restart cups, and set up you printer normally. I certainly hope this helps some people who may be beating themselves over the head repeatedly.

What a strange ending to Volume 2, I was expecting something a little more exciting to keep me on the edge of my seat. For those of you who haven’t come across the second season yet, don’t worry I won’t be giving any spoilers except to say this - Does Nathan have to die at the end of every volume?
It seems the writers strike has caused a downhill turn in the last episode of this volume, it very rushed and completely out of character. Answers were given, as they have been throughout the whole of the second season, but without much flair or reasoning.
Saying that though, I enjoyed the first 11 episodes, and I will be waiting in anticipation for the rest of Season 2 to come back on air. I have read in numerous places that the show is on hiatus until the writers strike has been resolved, in which time we can welcome our hero overlords back to the screen - and maybe the beginning of Lost season 4!
I’m interested in your comments about the spoiler for volume three. Does anyone really care about Syler any more? I’ve gotta say though it was fun to see him as some kind of junkie.

Well, It has been a long long while since I last posted anything of worth. I have a ton of things I need to get off my chest, but they are going to have to wait a little longer - I suggest you plug in the appropriate RSS Reader and wait patiently for the gory details.
In other news, I was on the telephone earlier with Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman of Heroes fame) just this afternoon, and he informs me that he is very much looking forward to Season 3 of Heroes. This means that I can guess that Matt will be surviving to the end of Season two, which already has me on the end of my seat. A very close friend of mine visited the Memorabilia show at the NEC this afternoon, and after having her photograph taken with Greg Grunberg, asked him if he would say a few words to me on the telephone. The attached photo is the proof of this exchange.
